HOW TO REPLACE THE HUMIDITY SYSTEM ON AN RCOM MAX 20/50 INCUBATOR
This short blog post is a step-by-step guide explaining how to replace the humidity system of the Rcom Max 20/50 egg incubator. The humidity system of the incubator is the component that generates the humidity.
If the humidity system's heating element does not heat up when humidity is activated, this means that the system is faulty and will most likely need to be replaced..
To replace the humidity system, follow the steps below:
Step 1. Disconnect the power
To be completely safe, turn off the power at the wall socket. Then, remove the plug from the wall.
Step 2. Remove the viewing window and egg tray
Carefully remove the viewing window and the egg tray which may be inside. It is recommended to place them on a towel or soft material to avoid scratches.
Step 3. Separate the top and bottom bodies of the incubator
Open the side locks of the incubator to separate the upper and lower bodies; place the upper body upside down on a work surface. It is recommended to place it on a towel or soft material to avoid scratching the display.
Step 4. Separate, dismantling the humidity system from the control box
The humidity system is the white plastic part. The control box is the black coloured part.
Step 4.a. Remove the screws

Remove, using a phillips screwdriver, the four steel screws from the control box as marked in the figure above.
Step 4.b. Remove the screws

Remove, using a phillips screwdriver, the two steel screws from the humidity system as marked in the figure above.
Step 5. Remove the old humidity system
The humidity system of the Rcom Max 20 incubator has two plugs that connect to the PCB (printed circuit board).
Step 5.a. Remove the plugs

Plug 1 - Press the tab inwards with your fingers and pull gently to remove the plug. See image above.
Plug 2 - Using your fingernail, pull the tab outwards and pull gently to unplug. See image above.
Detaching the two plugs should be an easy procedure and should therefore not be forced.

Screw in the new humidity system with the two screws.
Then push the two plugs into the pins on the circuit board. Again, this procedure should be easy and not require too much force.
Screw on the control box with the four screws.
