The LGA Reflector is widely used to raise piglets and other animals. The sensitivity of piglets to cold from birth is so critical that it can be said that profitable rearing is not possible without providing them with temperatures ranging from 35º at birth to 22º at weaning and 20º for reared piglets. At the same time, both pregnant and lactating sows need a temperature of around 15º for good performance. This difference in ambient temperature between the piglet and the mother is what requires an additional heating system for the litter with LGA reflectors.

Infrared heating systems are used in agriculture and livestock farming (poultry, pigs, etc.) and offer several advantages over conventional heating.

Advantages of the LGA Lamp:

• Accelerates animal growth;
• Reduces investment costs;
• The heat radiated by the lamp dries out the bedding, preventing colds and infections.
• It also facilitates farrowing, because in the cold season, place the lamp in the pen a day before the birth, the sow will give birth better and the ground will be warmer to receive the newborns, avoiding deaths from freezing.

Characteristics:

LGA reflectors replace the classic screw-type reflectors. Designed to comply with IEC-355-2-71 standards, it is the only one on the market that can bear the CE mark and can therefore be marketed in European Community countries.

• It comes without a light with 250W power and IP66 protection level;
• It has a built-in four-metre power cable with a grounding conductor, vulcanised to the lamp itself. It also has a suspension system with a three-metre chain and safety carabiner;
• Anodised aluminium reflector and captive, tilting protective grid that allows the reflector to be cleaned;
• Captive tilting grid allows the reflector to be cleaned. If the lamp is accidentally dropped, it will remain tilted upwards to avoid the risk of fire;
• Black neoprene cable, vulcanised and ready for connection to a junction box;

Installation:

A booklet with assembly instructions, warnings and maintenance is supplied with each lamp. The height in relation to the ground can be adjusted, but there should be no less than 500 mm of separation between the lamp and the animals.
