With your arms relaxed at your sides, measure around the fullest part of your chest.

The button on the handle turns on the device and starts measuring the temperature when pressed and held. The other three buttons below the LCD display activate/deactivate the backlight and the laser sight, and the third switches between °C and °F.
To turn the thermometer off, just wait a few seconds and it will turn off automatically.
